Colon Cancer Prevention and More

The board-certified, advanced fellowship-trained doctors at Center for Digestive Diseases provide comprehensive care and leading-edge solutions for people with digestive problems. We focus on:

Colon cancer prevention – If you are over 50, you need a colon cancer screening. Currently only 40% of adults are being screened. Due to the importance of screening, insurance companies are covering them 100%. Our ASGE and TJC certifications confirm our high rate of colon cancer diagnosis and prevention.

Abdominal pain – We perform a comprehensive evaluation of abdominal pain, with standard and high-definition upper GI endoscopy to diagnose conditions such as diverticulitis, celiac disease etc. Unlike most gastroenterology practices, we also use highly sensitive internal ultrasound, called endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), to thoroughly examine adjacent organs.

Acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease – We actively manage acid reflux, swallowing disorders and atypical chest pain, with endoscopy and wireless pH monitoring to confirm acid reflux after poor response to medication. We are also actively preventing esophagus cancer by diagnosing precancerous Barrett’s, a complication from chronic acid reflux (GERD).

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – We help people overcome uncomfortable symptoms such as gas, bloating, constipation and diarrhea. We actively evaluate to identify the cause of IBS. Almost 65% of the time, we identify causes such as bacterial overgrowth, milk and other food intolerances. The new drugs available are very effective at treating IBS.

Hepatitis B, C and fatty liver – FibroScan® is a new noninvasive test to diagnose fatty liver, a leading disorder for people with diabetes and obesity, that can eventually lead to cirrhosis and liver transplant. We offer some of the most innovative treatments for these diagnoses.

Pancreatic cancer – Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is very useful to diagnose pancreatic cancer and cysts at its early stage. We also diagnose and manage acute and chronic pancreatitis.

We also perform the following:

  • Esophagus cancer treatment
  • Diverticulitis treatment
  • Esophageal manometry – to evaluate swallowing disorder
  • Wireless 48-hour pH analysis – to evaluate acid reflux
  • Breath test – to evaluate H-pylori, bacterial overgrowth, iritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Wireless pill camera endoscopy – small intestine exam
